High Park Toronto: choose a walk, zoo or family outing
High Park works best when you choose a part of the park and an activity before arriving. Use this guide to plan a garden walk, a zoo-and-playground visit or time with the park’s natural habitats.

Choose one main High Park outing: a garden-and-pond walk, a zoo-and-playground visit, or a nature walk with time to observe. A half-day is a useful allowance for one of those plans. Trying to add every attraction makes a park visit surprisingly dependent on walking between stops.
For a general first visit, start from the Bloor Street side, head into the central park and choose either the western garden-and-pond area or the zoo and playground side. If you already know that Colborne Lodge or the playground is the priority, choose your entrance around that destination. A named park attraction is a much better navigation target than simply “High Park.”
