Sources & how this tracker works

The directory covers all 361 active candidates in the City’s saved 2026 feeds. Names are shown alphabetically by surname. Campaign website links are those supplied to the City. They can lead to a personal or social profile.

205 candidate profiles currently have source-linked policy summaries across the mayoral, council and school-board races. 156 additional profiles were reviewed, but no topic-specific position was found in the public sources available on the review date. 0 profiles still need a public-source review. These labels describe our coverage, not the candidates’ platforms.

245 candidates also have a link to an independent Build Canada profile, where questionnaire answers or background information may be available. Those links are provided as additional context and are not treated as Things Toronto policy summaries.

Candidate portraits appear when a candidate-specific image was available from the linked campaign website or the Build Canada candidate directory . The original image source is linked on each profile. Portrait availability is not an endorsement.

Each summary identifies its source and review date. “Campaign proposal” describes a proposed action; “Stated priority” describes a broader goal; “Historical statement” is a dated position from an earlier campaign or interview and is not presented as a current platform. None establishes that an action is funded, approved or within the candidate’s sole authority. We do not rank, endorse or score candidates, and do not infer policies from party affiliation, past votes or missing statements.

When a current campaign platform is unavailable, we may link reputable reporting and independent candidate directories as context. Those sources are labelled, dated and kept separate from current campaign proposals.

The candidate list and policy summaries are dated snapshots, not a live results feed. Candidate data was checked Sep 15, 2026. Policy dates appear separately. Things Toronto is an independent publication, not Toronto Elections.
