Pumpkin patches near Toronto in 2026: what is free, ticketed and extra

Compare the outing before comparing ticket prices

A short shopping stop and an afternoon of rides serve different needs. Decide which one your group wants before showing children a list of activities that you have not budgeted for.

None of those labels alone tells you the final amount. Count paying adults as well as children, and keep food, the pumpkin and travel on separate budget lines.

Downey’s: the pumpkin display does not require play admission

At 13682 Heart Lake Road, Caledon, Pumpkinfest runs September 19–October 31, 2026, daily from 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m., with last admission at 4 p.m. Play tickets are online only. The posted rate is $19.99 on weekdays, $25.99 for weekends and holiday Monday when bought before the visit date, or $28.99 when bought that day, before taxes and fees. These rates cover guests ages 2–92.

The farm’s FAQ separately confirms that the pumpkin purchasing area and farm store need no admission ticket. Pumpkins are not included in paid play admission. A shopping-only visit can therefore avoid the activity charge, but the pumpkin is still a purchase.

For four ticketed visitors, a weekday play visit starts at $79.96; a weekend booked ahead starts at $103.96, before tax, fees and extras. That $24 difference buys a different activity schedule too: weekdays have fewer entertainment options. Select the day around what your group will actually use.

Springridge: choose the September or October farmyard rate

Springridge’s current farmyard page lists daily hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at 7256 Bell School Line, Milton. Entry is $10 on weekdays; weekends and holidays cost $16 in September and $19 in October, per person ages 2–92. Admission is purchased at the farmyard entrance, with no advance booking required.

The market, bakery and gift shop have free entry. The paid farmyard adds activities including animals, play areas and a wagon ride; the five-acre corn trail is a harvest-weekend feature. Treat this as a market-and-farmyard choice rather than assuming every visitor gets a pumpkin from a growing field.

For four paying visitors, the posted farmyard amounts add to $40 on a weekday, $64 on a September weekend or $76 on an October weekend. Those are arithmetic comparisons of listed admission rates, not quotes for a pumpkin, lunch or final transaction. Recheck the seasonal page for your date.

Chudleigh’s: check the crop before booking a picking visit

Chudleigh’s crop page marks pumpkins “Picking Now” as of our September 26 check at 9528 Regional Road 25, Halton Hills. The pumpkins grow between apple rows. Advance admission books a three-hour session; confirm crop availability and the separate pumpkin price before purchasing. We have not verified a 2026 pumpkin price.

Do that check before promising a particular kind of visit. A photograph and a calendar entry do not establish which rows will be available when your group arrives. Make a backup choice everyone would enjoy if picking conditions change.

Toronto Pumpkinfest at Downsview Park: a city festival option

Toronto Pumpkinfest runs October 9–12, 2026, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. at 35 Carl Hall Road. The advance online family pass for two adults and two children ages 2–12 is $84.99 plus HST until October 8 at 11:59 p.m.

The page conflicts on free patch access and pumpkin prices; confirm both directly. Parking costs extra. Use the event address for your route.

A city location may suit a group that does not want a rural excursion. Work out how everyone will get home carrying their purchases before deciding whether to add the festival to the day.

Match the route and terrain to the people going

Make the transport plan before choosing the heaviest pumpkin in the display. If you will use transit, consider the return journey with the pumpkin as well as how easy the outward trip looks. For a shared car, agree on space for purchases and when everyone expects to leave.

Downey’s describes grass, gravel and asphalt, ramp-equipped wagons and an accessible portable washroom, while warning that rain can make the play area muddy. Ask the relevant operator about your specific mobility needs and the current route through the areas you want to use. An accessible entrance alone does not answer every question about a working farm.

Check food rules before packing lunch and cancellation terms before buying. Choose a meeting point if the group splits between shopping and paid activities. Keeping those small decisions out of the entrance queue makes the visit easier to coordinate.

Keep the pumpkin outing focused

A helpful budget has four lines: admission, pumpkins, food and travel. Put the group’s non-negotiable activity beside the admission line. If nobody wants rides, it is easier to see why a market stop may be enough. If the children mainly want the play areas, leave time for them instead of scheduling several farms in one afternoon.
